Controversy has surrounded these two for the better part of two months. The feud was brought to new levels of intensity after Madison Killjoy yet again fell short of the ultimate prize when he lost the match at High Stakes without even entering the ring. Since then, Madison Killjoy has battled Tom Conway twice to finally earn his shot at Chapel in a singles match at Soul Survivor. As for Chapel, he has been able to hold onto the World Title by the skin of his teeth in recent weeks with many narrow victories. This time things will be different as the recent assault he received from EPW newcomer, Shawn Singleton may hinder his ability to fight off an assault from Killjoy at the pay-per-view. Will Chapel's luck finally run out?

The tournament started off about four weeks ago when the first round of matches began. Jackson Kable defeated Joey Dangerously, Karl Jackson defeated Shawn Mathers, and Psycho Dan defeated Jeremy Page. All of these men would advance to the final match that will take place at Soul Survivor. Unlike other tournaments, the final match will consist of the final four participants in a Four-Way Elimination Match. The last man standing in this match will become the first ever Soul Survivor.

The last time that we had a Scaffold Match here in EPW was almost a year ago. August 24, 2003 to be exact. It was at EPW Reforge that King Hardkore faced Blackheart in a match for the Hardcore Championship. This time, as if the match isn't career threatening enough, the loser of this match will in fact have to leave the company for good.
