EPW World Title Match

Since entering EPW, Lantlas has been unbeatable, with the only blemish on his record being a draw and the closest he has gotten to suffering a loss is when he was defeated by Oliver Ranken in a match where the decision was later overturned due to Oliver Ranken’s vicious assault post-match. Although being on a roll, Lantlas could not seem to break through the proverbial glass ceiling. That all changed as Lantlas finally crashed through by winning the Soul Survivor Tournament in July.

At Soul Survivor, Lantlas stepped into the ring with three of EPW’s best, Phil Burgess, Thomas Young and Alex Grey. Coming down to Lantlas and Alex Grey, The Elven Warrior pulled out a close victory over Grey in a match that would propel both superstars to stardom. By winning the tournament, Lantlas had earned himself a shot at the EPW World Championship at Breaking Point.

Jesse Jamester’s match with Kazakov Harkov at Soul Survivor ended in turmoil as both men came crashing through the entrance stage after falling from the top of the big screen. The match was considered a draw and it wasn’t until the July 30th episode of RiOT where both men would have their final showdown after recovering from the injuries that they suffered at Soul Survivor.

On the July 30th episode of RiOT, Jesse Jamester would retain the championship in a Steel Cage Match against Harkov in which Justice would make his much anticipated return, looking to get his revenge on Harkov for injuring him a number of weeks prior.

The following week on RiOT, Richard Rush would force Lantlas to team with Kazakov Harkov and Raskilnikov to take on the team of Jesse Jamester, Justice and Alex Grey. The match would end in a draw as it broke down into an all-out brawl. Surprisingly, Lantlas would appear to come to the aid of Jesse Jamester near the end of the match as he attempted to attack his own partner, Raskilnikov. The Russian would move out of the way and Lantlas would end up knocking out Jesse Jamester with a superkick.

Just prior to the August 13th episode of RiOT, the EPW website reported that EPW World Champion, Jesse Jamester had been involved in a serious car accident and would not be able to compete at Breaking Point. Richard Rush made the decision to strip Jamester of the championship and award it to his would-be challenger, Lantlas. Devon Drake made her surprise return as she spoke up for the Elven Warrior, claiming that he did not want to be handed a championship. Lantlas had honor and pride and preferred to earn the championship. Richard Rush, insulted by the rejection of his offer, got furious with Lantlas and vowed that he would have his way.

The following week on RiOT, Richard Rush entered the ring and claimed that Lantlas would come out and accept the championship belt or he would suffer the consequences. Rush claimed that due to Lantlas’ popularity, he planned to cash in by handing the strap to The Elven Warrior. Lantlas’ music would play, but there would be no sign of him or Devon Drake. Richard Rush considered the third time to be the charm as he then gave Lantlas until the count of ten to show his face. On ten, Richard Rush was surprised to see not Lantlas, but the returning Jesse Jamester.

Jamester was obviously injured from the car accident just less than two weeks prior, wearing a knee and neck brace and bearing numerous scratches and bruises. Jesse Jamester proceeded to the ring where he claimed that he was not going to go out without a fight and took back his World Championship. Knowing the story behind the match and the interest in it by the fans, Richard Rush agreed to allow Jesse Jamester to compete, seeing dollar signs.

Jesse Jamester has been battered and beaten before, but he has continued to plug on. Lantlas has been a machine as of late and seems to be completely unstoppable. The World Champion has beaten the odds in the past, but the odds this time might be too great, even for The Nemesis Warrior. Will Jamester once again rise to the occasion or is he on his last legs?

EPW Evolution Title Three-Way Match

Shawn Singleton - Never one to leave well enough alone, Singleton refused to allow a time limit draw with B-Boy to stand. He demanded a rematch at Aggression and sought his revenge away from the ring, ending his opponent's career, and possibly more had it not been for Alex Grey. Singleton then made good on his promise to assault the title scene, declaring Kevin Richardson his next target, much to the chagrin of the wounded warrior, Upton Osgood, fresh off a defeat for his coveted Evolution Title. Grey proved his valor, standing up to Singleton and his Triumvirate, leaving the lion's den unscathed, but would not be so lucky in the match. Singleton won, but the momentum continued in Grey's favor as he took everything the three of them had to offer and still wanted more. Mocking Singleton, Grey continued his audacious pursuit for the Tactical Assassin.

Meanwhile, a moribund Upton Osgood returned from injury...different. He had a different attitude about him, one that showed its true colors the night he lost a shot to win back his title from Richardson, a title that Singleton snatched from him. Upton could do nothing but take out his frustrations, ending the budding officiating career of the now-former champion, Kevin Richardson. With the title that his rival coveted the most, and the advantage over the enemy that wanted him the most, Singleton felt on top of the world. Taunting both men time and time again, Shawn was forced to put up #1 contendership against the two of them in a tag match with his cohort, Martyr. with the two of them determined to take Shawn out, they were able to attain dual contendership after Alex Grey pulled a win out of nowhere. When it was time to celebrate, Upton was less than enthused, pulling his hand away from Grey's and walking off in disgust.

A new Upton Osgood seemed to emerge on the final Riot before the pay per view, seemingly embracing his dark side, warning those around him that they may not like what they see. Singleton approached him, pleased to see the change, but was surprised to find that it was just a ruse to draw him out. Shawn's quest for respect, as he puts it, seems to be coming to a head-on collision with Upton's quest for redemption and Alex Grey's quest for revenge. What is the most powerful incentive?

Respect. Redemption. Revenge.

Tune in Sunday, August 24th, 2008, and find out.

Osgood. Grey. Singleton.

Evolution Title Match.

Who will reach their Breaking Point?

No Disqualifications Handicap Match

The feud between Adams and Richard Rush goes back to 2004, but the most recent incarnation of their feud dates back to Aggression on June 27, 2008 in a match in which John Adams supposedly lost the EPW World Championship to Jesse Jamester.

The following week on RiOT, the real John Adams made an appearance, but was surprisingly greeted by security guards who were told to keep him out of the arena. Needless to say, John Adams got into a scuffle with security and ended up accidentally striking EPW’s Executive Chairman, Stephen Cardin, injuring him in the process.

On the July 9th episode of RiOT, Richard Rush made a shocking return to EPW as he announced that he in fact owned the company that purchased EPW a few months back. Richard Rush’s first order of business was to release the then-suspended John Adams from his contract. Adams came down to the ring and didn’t seem to be himself that night. That was because it wasn’t really John Adams.

On the July 16th episode of RiOT, Richard Rush put together a farce that he called “A Tribute to John Adams”. Needless to say, most of the footage shown was of John Adams’ lowest moments in his career. The party ended up being crashed by the man who claimed to be John Adams. It was clear that something was up as the supposed John Adams begged for his job back. Richard Rush was happy to give him his job back, but only if he could defeat him in a match at Soul Survivor.

At Soul Survivor, Richard Rush surprisingly had no trouble defeating John Adams, rolling him up and using the ropes for leverage. It would become apparent that the man Richard Rush defeated was in fact not John Adams.

On the July 25th episode of Aggression, Richard Rush held yet another farce that he dubbed “The Final Send Off of John Adams”. Once again, the supposed John Adams came down to the ring and began to beg for his job back, admitting that Richard Rush was right and he was wrong. Once again, the party was crashed as a large man in a black ski mask came out of the crowd and attacked the supposed John Adams. The man then removed his mask, revealing that he was in fact, The True Prophet.

On the July 30th episode of RiOT, Richard Rush came out and claimed that the man that came out of the crowd the previous week was in fact an imposter. It became apparent that Richard Rush was lying yet again as the real John Adams came out and confronted the boss. John Adams went on to prove that it was in fact his twin brother, Devlin Rubis who had impersonated him, causing him to lose his World Championship and almost his career.

The following week on RiOT, John Adams issued a challenge to Richard Rush. The boss accepted the challenge, but declared that both men would choose representatives for the following week. If Richard Rush’s representative were to win the match, then it would be John Adams vs. Richard Rush & Devlin Rubis at Breaking Point. If John Adams’ representative were to win the match, then it would be John Adams vs. Richard Rush in a Steel Cage Match at Breaking Point.

On the August 16th episode of RiOT, Richard Rush revealed Kazakov Harkov as his representative and John Adams shocked the world when he picked Justice to represent him. Justice finally got his chance to get his hands on Harkov, but Richard Rush once again tipped the odds in his favor as he named himself the special referee for the contest. Needless to say, Richard Rush controversially disqualified Justice after John Adams stepped into the ring to contest the repeated double team of Harkov and Rubis on Justice.

The stage was set for Breaking Point, it would be John Adams against both Devlin Rubis and Richard Rush, but on the August 20th episode of RiOT, John Adams would get a chance to get his hands on Devlin Rubis a few days early. The main event of the evening would be Justice and John Adams against the duo of Kazakov Harkov and Devlin Rubis. During the match, Justice and Harkov would end up brawling to the back as Devlin Rubis would strike John Adams with a steel chair that was handed to him by Richard Rush. Rubis would get disqualified for his actions, but as he attempted to continue the assault on Adams, The Prophet turned the tides and he threw Rubis out of the ring. That’s when things would take a turn for the worst.

Devlin Rubis and Richard Rush would flee to the back as John Adams followed them in hot pursuit. We would be taken to the parking lot where Justice and Harkov were still battling. Harkov would end up climbing into the back of an open semi trailer as he attempted to get away from Justice. Justice would follow him into that same trailer. Momentarily, John Adams made his way out to the parking lot, still searching for Devlin Rubis. Adams would hear a commotion in the back of the trailer and he would assume that it was either Richard Rush or Devlin Rubis. Adams would climb into the back of the trailer, when suddenly a semi truck would come barreling down on the trailer. There was a loud crash as the trailer was completely destroyed by the semi truck.

As the smoke cleared, Devlin Rubis would emerge from the wreckage as the driver of the semi truck. Rubis would then flee the scene, leaving Justice, Harkov and John Adams for dead. A few moments later, a commotion would be heard from the back of the trailer and a shadow of a man could be seen climbing out of the wreckage. That man was none other than John Adams.

At Breaking Point, the match between John Adams and Devlin Rubis & Richard Rush is still on despite whatever injuries that The Prophet may have suffered on RiOT. John Adams will be hell bent on getting his revenge on both Richard Rush and Devlin Rubis, but what kind of condition will he be in?

EPW Legacy Title Four-Way Match
Wormwood vs. Dean Mathers vs. Moraless vs. Jack Murphy

Dean Mathers realized his dream when he defeated The HIT at Soul Survivor to win the vacant Legacy Championship. The title was originally created back in 2004 as a tribute to Dean Mathers’ older brother Shawn who had tragically passed away due to a heart attack that he suffered during a match. Although Dean Mathers had reached the top of the mountain in a short amount of time, his reign as champion would be even shorter.

On the July 25th episode of Aggression, Wormwood defeated Phil Burgess and Nathaniel Wallace in a Three-Way Match to earn himself a shot at the Legacy Championship. Wormwood would wait two weeks before cashing in his shot at the title.

On the August 6th episode of RiOT, Wormwood went head-to-head with Dean Mathers for the EPW Legacy Championship. Dean Mathers but up a fight, but in the end, Wormwood ended up winning the championship by catching Mathers in a quick school boy pin. Mathers was obviously distraught after losing the title that he coveted so much.

The following week, Richard Rush booked two matches to determine who would face Wormwood for the title at Breaking Point. The first match saw Moraless defeating Vince Jones. The second match saw Jack Murphy defeating Justin Thornton. By the end of the night, Dean Mathers would approach Rush and plead for a second chance. Richard Rush obliged and thus made the match at Breaking Point a Four-Way Match.

At Breaking Point, Wormwood will have his first defense as he takes on three of EPW’s top superstars: Dean Mathers, Moraless and Jack Murphy. Who will emerge as champion?

Singles Match

Oliver Ranken was last seen in EPW when after losing a match to Lantlas at Higher Stakes, he assaulted the referee. As a result of his actions, he was suspended for nearly two months.

On the July 25th episode of Aggression, the first part of the “One on One with Ranken” series of interviews aired. Each week a new installment of these interviews would air up until the final one was broadcast on the August 13th episode of RiOT.

During the interviews conducted with Cole Porter, Oliver Ranken would discuss his past as well as what he had been up to during his suspension and even the current state of EPW. On the August 20th episode of RiOT, Ranken would finally make his much anticipated return to the ring.

On the August 20th episode of RiOT, Vincent Valentino returned to EPW after having been fired a few weeks prior. Oliver Ranken would soon make his return to the company as he demolished Vincent Valentino in an impromptu match. Being that the show was held in the northeast, which is where rival promotion, Ringside Wrestling is headquartered, a number of rW stars had front row seats to the event. Oliver Ranken confronted rW’s Ringside Champion William Gwynn, the Commonwealth Champion Derek Barlow and John Mark Blackburn. Having no part of it, the rW stars stood up to Ranken and a confrontation ensued. Making use of a steel chair, Gwynn and Barlow got the upper hand on the former rW star, Oliver Ranken as they left him in a pool of his own blood.

At Breaking Point, it will be an inter-promotional match as EPW’s Oliver Ranken takes on rW’s Derek Barlow in a match where company pride will be on the line. Who will come out on top, EPW or rW?

EPW Tag Team Title Three-Way Match
Malcolm Dred-King & Wisdom Black vs. D.W.I. vs. Rollin' Large

It was the team of Malcolm Dred-King and Lennon O’Dea who won the EPW Tag Team Championships from The Killer Pirates at Soul Survivor, but their reign wouldn’t last long and issues began to come up between the two.

On the July 30th episode of RiOT, King For O’Dea faced Drunk Wrestlers Inc. in a match that was not for the Tag Team Championships. Lennon O’Dea had done some drinking prior to the match and that resulted in some miscommunication with his partner, allowing for D.W.I. to pick up the win. Later that night, Dred-King approached Richard Rush to address his concerns over his partner’s ability to compete. Richard Rush took it a step further as he stripped Lennon O’Dea of his half of the championships, allowing Malcolm Dred-King to choose a new partner.

On the August 6th episode of RiOT, a man from MDK’s past, Wisdom Black made his EPW debut and held claim to the other half of the titles. Malcolm Dred-King then went on to issue a challenge to D.W.I. looking to make up for the upset loss the previous week.

On the August 13th episode of RiOT, Lennon O’Dea would team with D.W.I. to take on the team of Nacho Grande and Rollin’ Large. The union of Lennon O’Dea and D.W.I. would soon be known as Alcoholics Unanimous.

Another team would be added into the mix as on the August 20th episode of RiOT, The Cromartie Bros. would make their return to EPW to take on Rollin’ Large in a match where the winners would earn at shot at the Tag Team Championships at Breaking Point as well. Rollin’ Large pulled out another win as they upset the returning Cromarties.

At Breaking Point, it will be Malcolm Dred-King & Wisdom Black defending their Tag Team Championships against both Drunk Wrestlers Inc. and Rollin’ Large in a Three-Way Tag Team Match.
