| Company Overview |
Evolution Pro Wrestling first opened it's doors in May of 2001. At that time, it was known as Xtreme E-Wrestling and was strictly a "real" wrestler federation. XEW had a good run, becoming more and more creative as time went on. XEW would eventually close in October of 2001 due to financial reasons.
It wouldn't be until July 2002 that Xtreme E-Wrestling would make it's return. This time, the federation would allow both created and real wrestlers into the fold. Major stars emerged during the second run of XEW such as Coleman Dowell, Johnny Newmonic, Hudman, Chapel, Afgabue, Sij, and The Stimulant D.J.S. Xtreme E-Wrestling would only last until October yet again due to backstage and financial problems.
In August of 2003, Xtreme E-Wrestling would once again make it's return. This time, the federation would allow only created wrestlers. New stars would emerge from the pack this time as The Destroyer, John Adams and Dio would rise to the top of the ranks. Returning superstars would also make an impact as Hudman and Chapel would return down the road. Xtreme E-Wrestling's return would only last until after September of 2003 due to financial reasons. The new owner of the company, Richard Rush would be forced to change the company's name after the original deal to purchase the rights to XEW fell through.
It would take until December for the company to return to the fold, now known as Evolution Pro Wrestling. The company would run stronger than ever, but eventually would fold in late March of 2004 due to John Adams taking over the company and not being prepared for the task at hand.
John Adams would eventually put together a game plan and hire a few good staff members in order to bring back EPW in June of 2004. This run would prove to be the biggest run of EPW to date. From the time of June 2004 to late August that very year, EPW would reach it's highest level of popularity yet. Unforunately, EPW would be forced to close yet again due to financial reasons.
In late April of 2005, the company known as Exevent, or Extreme-Evolution Entertainment would buy 100% of the shares of the company, becoming the new owners of Evolution Pro Wrestling. The company announced the reopening of EPW set for June of 2005, with a new staff in place and a new structure to the company to allow for EPW the opportunity for success beyond any that it has in the past. Just as it seemed that EPW was on solid ground, Exevent turned around and sold the rights to EPW over to Core Wrestling. Core Wrestling took on all of the superstars under contract at the time as well as all of the championships and history of Evolution Pro Wrestling. Core Wrestling would eventually fold on March 16, 2006.

What is EPW? EPW, or Evolution Pro Wrestling, is an online fantasy wrestling federation (e-fed). Members of the federation play the role of a fantasy wrestler or wrestlers through the trials and tribulations of professional wrestling.
How do I become a member of EPW? Click "Join" from the menu above for all of the information you need about joining. Keep in mind that not all applications will be accepted. There are a few reasons for someone not being accepted into EPW and they are as follows: the character is a cheap rip-off of a "real" wrestler, the character is a "real" wrestler or person, or the sample roleplay that you provided was not up to the level of other Evolution Pro Wrestling talent. Here at Evolution Pro Wrestling, we look for people that get along well with others, are patient and have a genuine love of the game. Those who are looking only to gain titles and recognition need not apply.
How do contact the staff? For the contact information of the EPW staff members, click the "Staff" link above. Keep in mind, not all of the staff members have their contact information readily available and thus you contact the individual who would best answer your questions or help you with any problems you may have. In the staff section, along with name and email address, you will see the duties of each individual staff member. Please do not solicit the members of the staff in an attempt to get them to help you out with a fed of yours or to join your fed as it will fall upon deaf ears.
What do you use to create the wrestler pictures? We use a program called Poser to create the images for the wrestlers within EPW. Many of the top federations use the same program or a similar one. You can find many of these federations at Primetime Central. For more information about the Poser program, check out the official site of the company that created it.
What kind of fed is EPW? Evolution Pro Wrestling is a hybrid federation. Most feuds will feature a number of angled matches and usually end with a match where the winner is determined by roleplay quality. We try to make sure that everyone on the roster has some sort of storyline to go along with and we do not force people to lose matches for the sake of an angle. Those who choose to go along with angles and agree to a "predetermined outcome" here and there will move farther up the card as we will be able to work with them in developing storylines. However, those who choose not to go along with storylines will usually end up in exhibition matches as we cannot place people in storylines if they do not work with the person that they are feuding with.
How are the results for the show written? EPW has a small staff of dedicated writters who put together the results from scratch every week. Unlike some of the federations out there, we do not use a simulation system.
How do you win matches? When the outcome is not agreed upon ahead of time for the purpose of an angle, the winner is determined by roleplay quality.
